Yearbook Page Assignment: Due Wednesday, January 15th
Final Exam Days & Times:
Period 3, A days: Wednesday 8:30 - 10:30
Period 4, B days: Thursday 10:45-12:45

EXPECTATIONS FOR FINAL EXAM:
WORTH 20% OF YOUR GRADE
***BE ON TIME!!!
PART 1- PRESENTATION OF YOUR WORK (5-8 minutes)
- Your website with all of your work posted
(Advertisements, Self-Portrait, Independent Project, Other work...)
- Artist inspirations
(A minimum of 3 artists should be linked to your website, with explanations of the artist
and why they inspire you)
- A discussion of who you are as an artist, your artistic voice, and what you are trying to
convey in your work
PART 2 - CRITIQUE
- You are expected to comment on other people's artwork during the presentations and give informational feedback
- You should use artistic vocabulary in your commentary
- You should show a deeper conceptual understanding of the pieces
- You MUST comment
(a minimum of 5 times for a D, 6 for a C, 7-8 for a B, and 9-10 times for an A)
**Also depends on the quality of your comments

1. Take 50 photos of yourself
(photobooth, cameras)
2. Complete 3 final compositions:
-1. Physical Self-portrait (you in in the photo)
-2. Metaphorical Self-portrait (abstract representation – no people)
-3. You acting out a theme statement about life (not as yourself, but as a representation of a bigger concept about humanity)
3. Photoshop: (8 x 10 “ image)
1. Use layers!
2. Use the history window
3. Use Image: Adjustments – adjust saturation, color, invert colors
4. Lasso & Move tool – move objects into a new background
5. Retouch your photo using the stamp/clone, dodge/burn tools, band-aid tool
6. Use filters to abstract something in a composition
7. Create an interesting composition with deeper ideas
8. Finalize: Layers: Flatten image, save AS a JPEG
9. Post to website under “Self-Portrait” tab
